We're thrilled to share some incredible news with our Mr. Bug community! We've been honoured as the 2024 Startups 100 | Just Started Award winner, a recognition that highlights our rapid growth, success, and disruptive impact in our field, despite being in business for just one year.

Our journey began with a bold vision to change Western perceptions of insect protein. Recognising the reluctance to adopt insects as a direct food source, we pivoted our focus to crafting sustainable, nutritious dog treats from mealworms. This strategic decision not only addressed a market need but also aligned with our larger mission of reducing the UK's reliance on traditional meat sources.

Our commitment to innovation and sustainability caught the eye of the industry, leading to a significant £270k Innovate UK grant and multiple awards, including the Global Good Product of the Year.

Liz Barclay, commenting on our achievements, noted that Mr. Bug is "tapping into what will be a growing need, taking the risk as an early adopter and innovating, while demonstrating one practical solution and shifting public opinion and human behaviour."
